Can’t say this is my first time with RetroArch that something all of a sudden just stopped working/started acting up and last option was to just download a new one to prevent the multiple headaches of trying to see what else could fix this one problem. Just did that method, and started using the Beetle PSX HW core instead after finding out that it doesn’t read the “.bin” files but rather the “.cue” files are what’s needed to get the PSX games booted up and running with Beetle PSX HW. Either on my end, or a recent update of the PCSX-ReArmed core screwed everything up but haven’t seen any reports this issue as of recently. Just one of those strange “what the fuck” type moments with RetroArch I guess where something just stops working out of no where without any explanation and last resort is just to download a new version and transfer over your previous files/folders into the current one. However, I can only assume it’s one of those “unknown/bug” related issues where something in RetroArch just bugs out and doesn’t function as it’s supposed to be for unexplained reasons. Trying a different core such as Beetle PSX HW just says "Failed to load content" as well, as if my PSX roms are a bad dump or something when they aren't since they were working perfectly normal before recently. TLDR My PSX games are not loading at all in RetroArch and it just gives me a black screen despite making no prior changes to any of my PSX roms/bios. Any help or reports of similar issues as of recently would be much appreciated! But if you REALLY want to use that specific BIOS, you can probably just rename it to 'scph5501.bin' :p. I can only speculate that updating my cores is what caused this issues because again, this was not happening at all before and just started recently. Depends on the core, scph1001 is recognized by PCSX ReARMed and DuckStation, Beetle PSX is more strict however, it only recognizes a few BIOS files and 1001 isnt one of them (for US, only 5501, 55 ). m3u files depending on if it's a multi-disc game) and they were all working just perfectly fine before today. Has anyone else been experiencing this issue lately with PSX games on RetroArch on PC? Or any similar/related issues with any of the PSX cores? All my PSX games are. Last thing I did was grab a new PSX rom to test out if somehow my current PSX roms were messed up or something and as expected, same results. I then tried updating to RetroArch 1.9.1, and still no results. I toggled off the "Boot Bios Logo" option and still, nothing but a black screen and no audio. I'd figured at first, maybe somehow my bios somehow got corrupted (though I didn't do anything to them) so I just grabbed new ones and replaced them. I can only do it through the Desktop Menu. I can't even change the Core Association to the other PSX cores when picking a game because ones like Beetle PSX HW don't even show up on the list of cores to pick for said PSX game. I've tried using different cores, such as Beetle PSX HW/Beetle PSX and for some reason, they will just say "Failed to load content" whenever I try to boot up one of my PSX games. The games themselves however don't load at all, and neither does the PS1 Boot Screen. But the notifications such as the title of the game, achievements, controller port etc still appear. It’s sad cause at the end I cant enhence or even play normaly due to lagging on Nintendo DS, PSP, PSX via retroarch cores. As of recently, any PSX game I try to load up in RetroArch (through PCSX ReArmed core) boots up and just gives me a black screen. It’s seems to be the same driver for the PPSSPP app on HB App store. I use gl video driver in the retroarch option. I can double (maybe triple) the resolution easy and the Nintendo Switch emulate perfectly and smoothly Overcloaking doesnt make any siginificant improvement.īut what really make me think it’s something else, its the fact that when i use PPSSPP with bigger resolution i experience slow, same with nintendo Desmume or Melon emulation.īUT, when i play PSP games in the original PPSSPP app made for Switch via HB App Store, it s very fluid, no lag at all. Second thing, it s already very slow with original resolution, so i guess double it will make it worst. I use HLE bios since i cant load official bios in retroarch switch version. I will try to look better in the core option where to force resolution cause i really cant find it.
